Skin Revitalisation To Improve Skin Elasticity and Smoothness

Restylane Vital™ is a product range for skin revitalisation that works by improving skin elasticity and skin tone.

As we age, the quality of the skin changes - as collagen and elastic fibres degrade and the distribution and function of the body’s own hyaluronic acid is  less efficient. This results in rougher and  drier skin with less elasticity. The biological clock has an important role in this process but also lifestyle factors, such as exposure to sun, smoking and drinking..
Increased skin elasticity and enhance skin  appearance

The Restylane Vital range of products can create a glowing complexion by replenishing hyaluronic acid in the skin. By replenishing the natural hyaluronic acid in the skin, Restylane Vital improves hydrobalance to increase skin elasticity and improve skin structure. Restylane Vital is scientifically proven to improve skin quality and can be used to revitalise the face, neck, décolletage and hands.

Restylane Vital can improve skin quality in the following areas:

Face
Décolletage and neck
Hands

Treatment Step-by-Step

Consultation and treatment

Come to your consultation prepared with some questions about your treatment expectations. You will be asked about your medical history. When you leave your consultation you should feel well informed about Dermal filler, how it works, and what results to expect.

Together with your Practitioner you will decide which Dermal filler product is suitable for your needs. Before treatment, the practitioner will discuss pain relief with you. As every person has different preferences and sensitivity, Dermal filler is available both with and without integrated pain-relief. Depending on which area you will have treated you will also have a choice of other anaesthesia, such as anaesthetic cream, dental block or ice.

A treatment with Dermal filler typically takes about 15-30 minutes. It is performed by injecting Dermal filler through a fine needle into your skin to fill wrinkles, add volume, shape your face or lips or revitalise your skin.

Post-treatment

Your practitioner will provide you with post treatment advice. It is normal to experience some post-treatment discomfort, such as redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the treatment site. This typically subsides after a few days but can last up to one to two weeks. It is advisable to return for a post three week review to achieve optimal and lasting results.

Your Next Dermal filler Treatment

As Dermal filler is naturally biodegraded, you will eventually need to repeat the treatment to maintain the result. Return visits are typically made after 6,12 and 18 months depending on the dermal filler you choose for wrinkles and within 6, 9 and 12 months again, dependent on which dermal filler you choose for lips. For skin revitalisation with Restylane Vital a typical treatment programme comprises of three treatment sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart with a top-up maintenance treatment every 4-6 months, depending on the condition of your skin.

  • Nose to mouth lines (the nasolabial folds)
  • between the eyebrows (the glabella lines)

  • cheeks and chin (shaping and contouring)
  • back of the hands, décolletage, face, neck (skin revitalisation)

How does Dermal filler work?

Dermal filler is a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilized, non-animal hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.

What does Dermal filler treatment involve?

Before

Start by making an appointment with a qualified practitioner. During consultation be prepared to discuss your treatment expectations. After discussion of what you wish to achieve and assessment of your treatment needs, your practitioner will recommend which Dermal filler treatment is most suitable for you.

During

dermal filler is injected into the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle. The gel provides natural volume to smooth away the appearance of lines and wrinkles, enhance facial shape, or create fuller lips. Restylane Vital products improve the elasticity and texture of skin, restoring and maintaining the skins hydrobalance.

The treatment is quick, typically taking about 15-30 minutes. Treatment with Dermal filler does not affect facial expression and the benefits can normally be seen instantly.

After

Dermal filler products are biodegradable, which means they will naturally disappear in the body. To ensure an optimal and long lasting result, a top-up treatment is recommended 6, 12 and 18 months after your initial Dermal filler treatment. Discuss with your practitioner when a follow-up appointment may be appropriate.

After a treatment some reactions might occur, these include; are slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising, pain and tenderness. The reactions are generally mild to moderate and usually disappear shortly after injection. They typically resolve spontaneously within one or two days, but for some treatments they may last longer.

What should I bear in mind when considering a treatment?

First of all you should always contact a qualified experienced practitioner to be assured that the treatment will be performed correctly. For your safety, be prepared to discuss your medical history during your pre-treatment consultation.

How long does a Dermal filler treatment last?

One of the great advantages of Dermal filler is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Duration depends on many factors, such as the dermal filler you choose, the individual’s skin type, skin condition lifestyle and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended around every 6, 12 to 18 months depending on the individual and the treatment. A treatment of the lips lasts about 6, 9 to 12 months depending on the Dermal filler you opt for.

Can everybody use Dermal filler?

Most people can benefit from Dermal filler treatment. If you wish to;

  • reduce lines and wrinkles
  • create more defined or fuller lips,
  • define the contours of your face, such as chin or cheek,
  • boost your skin’s vitality, for a healthier more hydrated skin tone (e.g.face, hands, neck or décolletage)

Dermal fillers should not be used in or near areas where there is or has been skin disease, inflammation or skin related  problems. Dermal fillers have not been tested in pregnant or breast-feeding women, Individuals with medical conditions that lower the body’s immune response or individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive may be more prone to infection by a skin injection procedure. During your pre-treatment consultation, you should thoroughly discuss your medical history with your physician.

Does Dermal filler treatment need pain relief?

Generally, pain relief is not necessary when injecting into the skin to correct lines and wrinkles. Some people may experience the treatment as a mild discomfort. A local anaesthetic cream can be applied to the area for a more comfortable treatment experience.

The lips are a highly sensitive part of the body and, therefore, anaesthesia is usually recommended before lip enhancement. This is achieved most effectively by using a dental block or local anaesthetic

Most Dermal fillers are now also available with the local anaesthetic lidocaine included for a more comfortable treatment experience.

Your practitioner will be able to advise on suitable anaesthesia for your treatment.

Are there any risks with Dermal filler?

Millions of Dermal filler treatments have been performed since their launch . Product related reactions are rare. There are some injection related reactions which may occur after any injection; they typically resolve spontaneously a few days after injection to the skin, within a week after injection into the lips and within two weeks after injection with some Cheek fillers These reactions include redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the injection site.

After lip enhancement, lips may swell for up to a week, but this typically reduces after two to three days.

In case of more pronounced reactions or if they last longer than a week contact your practitioner.

You should discuss side effects and post treatment reactions with your aesthetics
